Finale in the park
Finale in the park
A musical production
The Cooperativa Ensemble with guests
Bielefeld – Bürgerpark
01.06.25, 4 pm
On Sunday, 1 June at 4 pm, the Cooperativa Ensemble and 16 musicians will transform the Bürgerpark into an unusual sound field. The event will be introduced by an extensive composition for three electronic sound artists, who will subtly fill the wide valley with sound from diametrically opposed positions. A wind quartet consisting of trumpet and three saxophones adds chordal accents from various positions. In a second part, all 16 musicians spread out in the park and perform as soloists like strange plants in their respective places. The audience is invited to wander between them.
In a third part, the soloists set themselves in motion and develop a choreographic network of sound lines and points that come and go. Finally, the performers group and unite and parade around the central lake as a quirky marching band in the finale.
The Cooperativa Ensemble: Marcus Beuter, Peter Schwieger, Leon Raum (electronics), Edith Murasova, Pia Raum, Katharina Adam (vocals), Michiko Sugikzaki (trumpet), Fanja Raum, Stefan Kallmer, Frank Ay (saxophones), Katharina Koenig (accordion), Susanne Schulz (violin), Willem Schulz (cello), Jan Jesuthas, Ulrich Hiltenkamp, Maris Zumholte (percussion).
Concept and direction: Willem Schulz
As good weather is essential for this open-air concert, there are two alternative dates in case the 1st of June has to be cancelled.
The Ministry of Art and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia has supported the Cooperativa Ensemble for six years, which has enabled the ensemble to realise a wide variety of experimental new music projects both regionally and nationally.
