Small travels, invitations for workshops, etc.
In January 2020, I traveled for 4 weeks to Sri Lanka. The journey takes me around the island and transverse through.
From November 2018 to January 2019 I traveled through Peru and Bolivia. I had a two-month artist residency in Riberalta in the Amazon Basin of Bolivia.
In 2017 I traveled to Brazil for two months. During a project in Germany I met the Brazilian dancer Maristela Estrela and then also Mariana Sucupira, both founders of Núcleo Cinematográfico de Dança. At her invitation I went to São Paulo where we developed the piece “In Dark Trees Saida #1” which premiered in Espirito Santo do Pinhal.
In the summer of 2013, I traveled again for 6 weeks to Armenia. This time to an artist residence along with Laureline Koenig at ACOS.
For the winter of 2011/12 I applied for an artist residency at the Art and Cultural Studies Laboratory in Armenia. Still deeply impressed by the experiences of the overland trip to India, I decided to go to Yerevan by public transport.
Indonesia had been quite a short trip – only four weeks. From Jakarta I drove via Java to Bali, from there via Lombok to Flores, and then returned in three days by ferry to Surabaya on Java…
In the winter of 2003 I traveled to India again. I drove to Varanasi from Delhi to visit a friend’s tabla teacher…
In winter 2001/2002 I traveled across the USA for 3 months, interviewing people about the future and hope.
In October 1996 I started with a friend for a journey that should lead us with bus and train overland to India. The path led to Italy via Austria and from there by boat to Greece. From Greece, it continued to Turkey, Iran and Pakistan to India, through which I traveled another half-year…
In 1995 I traveled to India for the first time. Together with a friend we described a wide circle through the subcontinent in two months.
As in Mexico in 1987, I went to Thailand in 1994, mainly to meet manufacturers of handicrafts, from whom my parents now also buy wholesale in Asia.
