The art of listening as the basis of the creative process – Instant Composing with the Ensemble Freie Musik.

For around 30 years, the EFM has been involved in instant composing, i.e. the creation of pieces of music from the moment, without prefabricated concepts, without prior agreements. The resulting pieces and performances are not only unique and unrepeatable, they are also always a reflection of the surrounding circumstances: the group’s line-up, the audience and, last but not least, the space in which the concert takes place.
With the personnel changes that have taken place over the years, the EFM has grown into a living organism that today presents itself with musicians from different generations, whose individual biographies contribute to the multifaceted nature of the group and thus of the music. In combination with the spontaneous approach of the musicians, an exciting listening experience can be expected.
